Changing the Way Monterey County Does Business
Welcome!
Since the day I was sworn in three years ago, I have devoted my time on the Board of Supervisors to listening to your needs – and striving to make your county government as responsive, transparent and effective as possible. As your County Supervisor, I want to share with you my efforts to change the way Monterey County does business.
In these tough times, I have worked hard to make sure our county government operates efficiently, effectively and without cronyism or corruption. In order to jump start our economy and solve the problems we face, we need to be making the smart choices with neither fear nor favor. That’s the kind of leadership I bring to the Board of Supervisors.
Please take a few moments and check out this website for more information about a few of my projects and ideas that illustrate my efforts. Thank you for your participation and I hope you will join my campaign to improve the lives of everyone who lives and works in Monterey County.

A Message from Jane
First, thanks to the many voters in District 4 who had confidence in my ability to serve our community's interests on the Board of Supervisors and who honored me with their vote.
Thanks, too, to the hundreds of volunteers and donors who made this such an energizing, positive, successful campaign.
This is a real tribute to the power of a grassroots campaign. We planned our strategy, carried it out smoothly and efficiently, spent less money than the opposition, and were successful! I look forward to serving the county in a similar manner.
Again, my heartfelt thanks for all your support. While we wait for every vote to be counted, please take the advice I am giving myself: rest up, stay strong and then lets get back to the joyous work of caring for our community. I look forward to continuing our efforts together in a new way starting January 2009!
